What we like to call Mountain Oak is really White Oak. These trees are in constant competition with the conifers in the quest for the precious sunlight. You will read many things about this magnificent tree but believe the fact they grow tall and large.
White Oak from our area grows tall with very little bi-frication. Sometimes we are lucky enough to find one of these beauties downed in the perfect position for Resource Reclamation.
White Oak, is suitable for many purposes, White Oak is strong, hard, durable, and very machine-able. White Oak is extremely stable and has great workable qualities that few other woods have.
