Wood Sculpture
For ages man has immortalized both the real and the surreal with sculptures. Symbols such as crosses have also been brought to life to inspire and comfort.
We have found that the wood knows what it wants to be. There is a symphony of grain that determines the end result of every piece.
Our wood sculptures are one of a kind, we don't mass produce bears or anything else, every project is very deliberate and well thought out. Sometimes a sculpture is the culmination of months or even years of thought observation and periodic work.
Every sculpture undergoes three major shaping events and two detail events. It is very easy to ruin a piece of wood by being hasty with primary, secondary or even the third major cuts.
All rough surface sculpture is finished with multiple coats of Danish Oil while the smooth models are poly urethane. All sculpture we sell is coated with 4 to 5 coats of finish.
